Common Foot Care Products and Procedures Offered by COFAW
All in-office procedures include appropriate sterile medical equipment and instruments and up to two complimentary follow-up appointments, as needed, to ensure proper healing and outcome.
Price of procedures listed below are independent of initial patient visit, which is $150-450 (except where noted). Appropriate procedures will be determined at time of initial visit.

Custom Orthotics
Includes scanning/impression, prescription with appropriate accommodations/modifications, custom build of orthotics, 1 complimentary follow-up visit 4-6 weeks after obtaining orthotic to assess comfort and fit, any necessary modifications to the orthotics within 3 months of obtaining the orthotics.
COST: $500*
*Although it is strongly recommended to obtain orthotics in person to ensure proper fit and comfort, if home delivery is desired there may be an additional shipping fee. Additional pairs of orthotics can be obtained for a discounted price after initial pair.

Insoles/Shoe Inserts
Over the counter insoles made in Germany with a wide variety of modifications and special features to accommodate and offload various foot structures and conditions. Includes heat moldable arches, various flexibilities, and metatarsal pads.

X-Rays
Available in conjunction with an abbreviated initial consultation or any follow-up appointment. Includes 3 standard weight bearing views of foot or ankle with physician read.

Steroid Injection
When appropriate, a combination of steroids and local anesthetic injected into an area of discomfort can oftentimes reduce or eliminate pain and inflammation for acute and chronic conditions alike. Benefits of a steroid injection are patient dependent and can vary greatly, ranging from little to no improvement to complete and permanent resolution of symptoms. If appropriate, this will be discussed in more detail at time of visit.

CAM Boot / Fracture Walking Boot
Immobilization in a boot can oftentimes protect injured areas and accelerate healing, especially for post-surgical patients, fractures, injuries, and intense pain. If appropriate, this option will be discussed in person at time of care. If deemed necessary, proper type of boot, size, and fitting will be ensured for all patients before they leave the office with improved comfort.

Lace-Up / Velcro Ankle Brace
For ankle instability, ankle sprains, ankle pain, and ankle weakness ankle braces can oftentimes provide protection, stability, comfort and an expedited recovery. If deemed necessary, proper type of brace, size, and fitting will be ensured for all patients before they leave the office with improved comfort.

Foot Pads, Spacers & Splints
A multitude of conditions such as corns, hammertoes, bunions, and areas of excessive pressure can often be effectively treated with a simple pad or splint. If appropriate, this option will be discussed in detail and all treatment options will be discussed and demonstrated at time of visit.
COST: Varies from $5 – $20

Hammer Toe Correction
When appropriate, a flexible hammertoe can be easily corrected in the office via a percutaneous procedure requiring little more than local anesthetic and a light digital dressing that is changed the next day. Patients with a hammertoe deformity will be thoroughly evaluated at time of initial visit and, if appropriate, this procedure will be discussed in more detail at that time.

Wart Treatment
Utilize cantharidin application or prescription topical compound medication depending on clinical presentation and patient preference.
COST: $150 for initial treatment; $100 for subsequent treatments, if needed.

Nail & Callus Care
Nail and callus debridement focuses on the removal of necrotic tissue with the goal of increased ambulation.
COST: $200 for initial consultation + care which includes a thorough foot & ankle examination, vascular evaluation, neurological evaluation, and foot structure analysis. $100 for returning customers after initial visit.

Nail Avulsion
Removal of nail, or simply nail border if appropriate, without permanent destruction of matrix cells. Nail/borders will return. Commonly used for ingrown toenails, painful toenails, or deformed toenails. Procedure typically takes 30 minutes. Includes one follow-up appointment.

Nail Matrixectomy
Permanent removal of nail or nail border via chemical exposure. Nail/border will not return. Commonly used for ingrown toenails, painful toenails, or deformed toenails. Procedure typically takes 30 minutes. Includes one follow-up appointment.

Slant Back Procedure/Wedge Resection
This procedure uses a sterile miniature straight edge nail nipper to remove the distal portion of the toenail border. The nail border will continue to grow, as this is not a permanent procedure. This procedure is most appropriate for ingrown toenails which only involve the distal or far half of the nail border and are not overly infected. The procedure takes less than a minute, has minimal discomfort, requires no local anesthetic injection, and typically alleviates patient’s symptoms immediately. Includes one follow-up appointment, if needed.
